SPORTS ACTIVITIES
- Information on recreational fishing
According to Article 17 of the Beach Ordinance, the following hours are established for recreational rod fishing:
- Bathing season: From 15th May to 30th September. Recreational rod fishing is only permitted from 21:00 to 08:00. Fishing outside these hours is prohibited.
- Rest of the season: From 1st October to 14th May, recreational rod fishing is allowed 24 hours a day, always respecting the rights of bathers over those of fishermen.
Those practising this activity must hold the corresponding fishing licence.
Recreational rod fishing competitions and tournaments on the beach must always have specific municipal authorisation and be approved by the General Directorate of Maritime Fisheries.
Other types of fishing, such as underwater recreational fishing with harpoons, are strictly prohibited.
Those practising recreational rod fishing must leave the area clean, collecting all boxes, fishing lines, hooks, or waste generated, and depositing everything in the bins or containers. Responsible use of hooks is essential to protect both people and the environment. When hooks are left on the sand, they become an invisible danger that can cause injury to bathers and children. Abandoned hooks also pose a threat to marine wildlife (fish, birds, turtles) that may swallow them or get trapped. Please always collect all hooks, lines, and fishing gear remnants. We recommend using safe containers for transport. Help keep the beaches clean and safe for everyone.
