The mission of Castelldefels City Council is to ensure the well-being of the citizens who guide its actions. It delivers individual and collective services based on criteria of quality and innovation, whilst promoting public participation and transparency. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of local residents, foster the integration of newcomers to the municipality, and lay solid foundations for steady, orderly, and humane development. This is achieved under the principles of Governance, Innovation, Technology, Universal Accessibility, and Sustainability, fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To build a smart, healthy, sustainable, and open city model with international prestige. This model offers citizens high-quality, efficient, and collaborative spaces, services, and facilities within their environment through the deployment of technology. These initiatives are designed for family and personal enjoyment, actively involving all stakeholders (the City Council, citizens, service providers, and active public and private entities).

In this regard, the established beach model champions integrated and sustainable economic and tourism development within a smart, residential, working, leisure, cultural, and gastronomic tourist destination. Our beach is accessible and close to the community; an area to be enjoyed by all citizens and visitors alike, whilst respecting local residents and recognizing that it is a natural space to be protected.

All of the above complies with the UNE 170001-1 standard regarding the design, management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of beach spaces and services, thereby ensuring that universal accessibility remains an integrated and ongoing element of beach management.
